The following are examples of a few projects we have worked on.
BENALLA RURAL CITY COUNCIL
Engineering Elements on behalf of Benalla Rural City Council commissioned AKWP Heritage Advisors to prepare:
- A Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP)
- A Historical Archaeological Assessment
A proposal to construct a car park at Benalla on a site previously associated with the former Benalla Dairy Farm Produce Company factory.
The project was carried out under Section 46(a) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 in conjunction with the Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP), the Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation and in accordance with Section 131(1) (b) of the Heritage Act 1995.
CLYDE NORTH
Environmental Earth Sciences Commissioned AKWP Heritage Advisors to prepare a cultural heritage management plan for a proposed retail development at Clyde North in Victoria. The area consisted of a 42478m² plot in Clyde North.
The project involved consultation with three Aboriginal organisations, Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC), Bunurong Land and Sea Association Inc. (BLSAI) and Boon Wurrung Foundation Ltd (BWF) to insure a satisfactory outcome for our client.
Environmental Earth Sciences engaged AKWP Heritage Advisors on behalf of a commercial client to conduct a CHMP at a property in Clyde North, Vic. I found Keith and his team provided a great service especially as this area is not something we were familiar with.
Their price was competitive and was more cost effective than another provider of this service so our client was very appreciative of this. The follow up Keith provided during the program was excellent as we felt we were informed of progress along the way. In short I would recommend AKWP Heritage Advisors for cultural heritage work.

City of Ballarat
AKWP Heritage Advisors were commissioned by City of Ballarat to prepare a mandatory CHMP under section 46 (a) of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 (the 'Act') for a section of Brown Hill Reserve beside the Yarrowee River situated at Brown Hill Ballarat.
The proposed works included the construction of pedestrian walking tracks over 100m in length, the construction of a small pedestrian bridge and the construction of two new wetland ponds rehabilitated from the existing wetland ponds.
The CHMP was completed successfully in consultation with The Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) for the region the Wadawurrung (Wathaurung Aboriginal Corporation).
City of Manningham
AKWP Heritage Advisors prepared a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) for Bradley Property group for an activity area of 1429m² in Doncaster, City of Manningham.
Bradley Property Group required a CHMP for a permit application for subdivision in metropolitan Melbourne, and AKWP was recommended to us. We found Keith took the time to clearly explain the CHMP process to us.
We were very impressed with AWKP‘s professionalism, efficiency and their consultation with the Registered Aboriginal Party to gain approval for our development plans. Their price was competitive and we were very satisfied with the heritage services provided by AKWP Heritage Advisors.

Blackburn
AKWP Heritage Advisors prepared a Cultural Heritage Management Plan (CHMP) on behalf of Metropol Planning Solutions Pty Ltd for a multi-unit residential development in Blackburn.
AKWP Heritage Advisors were engaged by our company, to assist with a site at Walsham Road, Blackburn which is included in an area of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Sensitivity. This was the first project on which we had the pleasure to work with Keith and his team and we were really pleased with their approach and the resultant CHMP, which was approved by the necessary parties in a timely manner.
